Kypria Festival

The annual Kypria Festival is one of the most important cultural events on the Greek part of Cyprus. The programming incorporates ballet, opera, cinema, art, theatre and music, performed by distinguished artists from Cyprus and around the world.

The festival is particularly important for the Greek-Cypriots on the island - Kypria means Cypriots and the event is based on the traditions and authenticity of Cyprus and its inhabitants. The event is organized by the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

10 & 12 Sep: The Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow presents Cavalleria Rusticana & I Pagliacci (Limassol & Nicosia)

19-20: Sep National Theatre of Northern Greece and Cyprus Theatre Organization present Bacchae (Nicosia)

22 & 24 Sep: National Theatre of Greece presents Frogs (Nicosia & Limassol)

26 & 27 Sep: Angels Over Berlin & Paris (Nicosia & Limassol)

30 Sep & 1 Oct; The Gypsy Devils & Cyprus Symphony Orchestra presents Soul of the Gypsy (Nicosia & Larnaca)

5-8 Oct: Music and Songs of the Mediterranean (Paphos, Nicosia, Larnaca & Limassol)

8-10 Oct: Jazz with the Petsteppers (Paphos, Nicosia & Limassol)

22 & 24 Oct: Binari, The Spirit of the Beat (Nicosia)

27 & 28 Oct: Martha Graham Dance Company N.Y. presents Clytemnestra (Nicosia)
